For the first time, Michelin chose 53 Istanbul restaurants to create its Istanbul City Guide. It’s a huge event for Istanbul and Turkey. Michelin is recognized as the preeminent institution for fine dining and recognizes gastronomical achievement worldwide. 

  • In addition to the 53 restaurants, some earned even more prestigious honors from Michelin. Turkish chef Fatih Tutak won Turkey’s first Michelin 2-Star award.
  • There were four other restaurants with 1-Star ratings.

  • A pioneering approach to sustainable gastronomy earned this group the lone Michelin Green Star.
